Founded by Mr. N!xau Kealeboga Gift Mogapi, these awards are meant the highlight and celebrate good deeds by good human beings but above all, these awards are a project meant to create resources to help good human being continue making significant contributions to their communities.
This project is also meant to ensure that good deeds by good people should be recognised, celebrated, embraced and while they are still alive, that way, ensuring that we recognise good human beings from all walks of life. At the heart of the Botho Awards is the belief that anyone dedicated to uplifting others and demonstrating a proven track record of humanitarian principles is eligible for recognition and reward.
Derived from the Setswana word for humanity, "Botho" encapsulates the essence of our mission. We believe that true greatness is measured not by accolades or industry status, but by the profound impact one has on the lives of others. Through the nomination process, we invite communities to recognize their unsung heroes, whether it’s a neighbor, a teacher, or a dedicated volunteer, encouraging everyone to share stories of compassion and kindness.
The Visionary behind Botho Awards, Founder and Executive Chairman - Mr. Nixau Kealeboga Gift Mogapi, established Botho Awards to highlight, encourage and inspire support and a continuation of the invaluable good work of Good Human Beings whose contributions often go unnoticed. Through this initiative, N!xau aims to collaborate with those who share the same vision and have passion for creating resources that add value to these remarkable individuals and their noble deeds.
His vision is to utilise this project to raise, create, and distribute resources to humanitarian projects led by Good Human Beings, assisting them in achieving their aspirations of uplifting others and, in turn, nurturing a new generation of Good Human Beings. The world is in desperate need of Good People, just pause, close your eyes, think through what is going on in the world today and you understand how important this initiative is, how this initiative in needed now more than ever, not only by the people of South Africa, but also by the people of Africa and indeed, this initiative is also desperately needed by the people of the world.
The Botho Awards are not merely an event; they represent a movement that encourages individuals to embody kindness, compassion, and service to humanity wherever they are in the world, in their own little or gigantic manner possible. Let us practice that notion of being good human being who do good things to multiply the spirit of not asking what is it that will be done for us and rather, we should offer to do for others especially those in dire need for much to be done for them.
